Projects

I’ve been lucky to pursue various engineering projects on my own time and dime.  Here I catalog as many projects as I can for others to enjoy, learn from, and to discuss.  If you have an application for any of the boards I’ve designed, please reach out!  I often have spares available, or can usually re-order them for reasonable prices.  Application specific modifications are also possible.  If you’re looking to use any circuits described here in your own designs I’d be happy to provide integration advice or answer questions.

This LNA was designed to be a practical tool for characterizing the low frequency noise of various DC voltage sources.  Emphasis was placed on achieving fast measurement settling times, tolerance of electrolytic leakage currents, and robust protection for both the LNA input and the DC signal source.  These goals were achieved with a simple circuit design, a noise floor of less than 11nVrms and a PCBA BOM cost of less than $25.

This MUX card has been refined through several revisions and fielded in automated test systems. For a hobbyist its an affordable way to turn a DMM into a DAQ, and for the professional it’s an expandable general purpose MUX’ing system with simple control and robust protection features.
